French prosecutors called for comedian Dieudonne M'bala M'bala to pay a $27,000 fine for failing to pay an earlier fine for making anti-Semitic statements. The prosecutors said Friday the comedian should pay $137 a day for 200 days and spend one day in prison for every day he fails to pay. M'bala M'bala left the six-hour court proceedings about halfway through and didn't speak in his defense, Radio France Internationale reported. M'bala M'bala was originally fined for anti-Semitic remarks he made in a video that was posted online. His lawyers argued his co-defendant Ahmed Moualek posted the video online without his permission. In the video the comedian mocked Holocaust memorials, denounced what he called the "Jewish lobby" and called for the release of Youssouf Fofana, who was jailed for the murder of a Jewish youth.
