A US drone attack has killed four militants in Pakistan''s tribal area, local intelligence officials said. The missiles hit a house just outside the town of Miranshah in North Waziristan, near the Afghan border. 
The drone strike took place Tuesday near Miran Shah in North Waziristan, an al-Qaida and Taliban stronghold that has been pounded by the US since the drone program began in earnest in 2009. The US made no official comment, but unnamed sources said it was a US drone. If confirmed, it would be the first US drone strike since errant November airstrikes by US forces killed two dozen Pakistani troops along the Afghan border, straining ties between Washington and Islamabad.
