Daesh militant group are said to have withdrawn from Abu Ghreib neighborhood in western Baghdad after the deployment of anti-terror troops in the area, SkyNews reported.
A number of civilians were injured as a result of clashes between the Iraqi troops and Daesh gunmen.
The all news network said Daesh militants launched a suicide attack on Abu Ghreib police station. The attack was carried out by a number of suicide bombers and militants with the use of light and medium weapons.
Armed clashes followed the attack.
Sources in the Iraqi police said security forces imposed a curfew in the surroundings of Abu Ghreib to contain the infiltration of Daesh militants to the area.
