Police detachments have arrested two al-Qaeda elements north of Iraq’s Wasit province. “A special police force carried out a security operation based on intelligence information to chase wanted in al-Swayra area north of Wasit,” provincial police chief Major General Hussein Abdul Hadi told Iraqi media. “Two of al-Qaeda elements, accused in accordance with the Anti-terrorism Act, were arrested during the operation,” he added.
