Russia strikes kill 25 civilians in Syria's Aleppo city

At least 25 civilians were killed and dozens injured in airstrikes staged by Syrian and Russian jets on Aleppo neighborhood.

Twelve civilians were killed and others injured in Russian and Syrian air raids on Aleppo towns, the countryside and Ramouse road, which links the city’s east and west, Sky News Arabia TV quoted medical sources as saying.

Fourteen more civilians were killed in Russian airstrikes against Aleppo’s Sukkari neighborhood. Syrian artillery and missile fire was also reported in the city and its countryside.

Clashes were reported between regime and Kurdish forces in Sheikh Maqsood neighborhood, which is controlled by the Kurds. Kurdish forces tried to block Castello Road to prevent the Syrian army from reaching Aleppo’s western neighborhoods after confrontations in Al Hasakah city.

In another development, field sources confirmed to Sky News Arabia TV the death of the general commander of Jarabulus military council in Aleppo countryside, who is affiliated with the so-called Syrian Democratic Forces, an alliance of Kurdish, Arab, Assyrian, Armenian, Turkmen and Circassian militias, just hours after announcing the establishment of the council.

Commander Abdel Sattar al Jader was killed in Al Shuyoukh town of Aleppo countryside by unidentified sniper fire, the sources said.

All attempts to rescue his life at hospital have failed, they said. 

At the same time, government forces are staging a furious offensive against the Al Waer, the last neighborhood controlled by the opposition in Homs.
