Ankara - Arab Today
At least 42 ISIS militants were "neutralized" in northern Syria in the last 24 hours as part of the ongoing Operation Euphrates Shield, the Turkish General Staff said in a statement Sunday.
Turkish authorities often use the word "neutralized" in their statements to imply the terrorist in question was either killed or captured.
In addition, 174 ISIS targets, including the terror groups shelters, headquarters, defense positions and vehicles were hit by Free Syrian Army (FSA) fighters with Turkish Land Forces' support, the statement said, according to Turkey's Anadolu Agency.
Turkish fighter jets also destroyed 33 buildings that were used as hideouts.
The Turkey-led Operation Euphrates Shield began in late August to improve security, support coalition forces, and eliminate the terror threat along the Turkish border.
