In a related development two people starved to death this midday in Al-Yarmouk Palestinian refugee camp, south Damascus, and ten others were admitted to Palestine Hospital there in a life-threatening condition due to malnutrition. The rebel Free Syrian Army (FSA) affirmed that four soldiers from Brigade 137 defected the regime and joined the FSA after a fierce fighting which left six fatalities among the ranks of regular troops.
