Syrians celebrate the opposition groups' major military advance in Aleppo.

Syrian opposition factions made new progress Sunday on the second day of military operations aiming to break the siege on Aleppo.

Opposition forces retook a number of areas on the western edge of the city where violent clashes had taken place since Friday, Al Arabiya news channel reported.

They managed to progress towards Minyan strategic district in western Aleppo and took control of Minyan village.

Dozens of Syrian regime soldiers were killed in an explosion of a remote-controlled car bomb.

In a related context, Syrian opposition factions isolated the governmental forces' positions in Aleppo from other areas, controlled by the Assad regime, through cutting off the only supply route.
