Ambulatory Healthcare Services, AHS, has launched a training course for school nurses for the academic year 2016-2017, in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Education Council.
The course provides nurses with the latest health information and clinical skills necessary for their work in the public schools in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. This programme is accredited by the Health Authority - Abu Dhabi, HAAD, and includes nearly 27 hours of continuing education.
Dr. Mariam Al Mazrouei, Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Acting CEO at AHS, said, "This training course is held annually to highlight the importance that is attached to continuing education for workers in the health sector, in order to provide higher quality services to all segments of society, starting with students of public schools."
Dr. Najah Mustafa, Head of School Health at Abu Dhabi Health Services, said, "The training programme helps participants keep up with the latest in the field of children’s care, in addition to conducting field research among school health nurses to determine the most prevalent conditions and most important cases for them, and incorporate them into the training programme."
The course continues in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, with 390 participating nurses from the school health services. Lectures will be given by a group of academics, doctors, nurses and specialists working in the field of health and education from various quarters.
