As part of this year’s inaugural UAE International Education Week, taking place in Dubai from 18th to 23rd October, Dubai International Academic City, DIAC, and BMI Media, the world’s leading education event organiser, will make public the findings of an in-depth research study outlining attitudes and priorities of students who are considering studying abroad.
The research, entitled, "Transnational Student Mobility and Future Employment Trends", was conducted as part of their partnership, with the objective of better understanding trans-national student needs and future employment preferences across a wide selection of developing countries.
The survey, conducted with over 2,700 students from more than 50 countries, determines the factors that motivate potential students worldwide, like, "where they would like to study," and the "reasons why", perceived obstacles and more.
Designed to support Dubai’s growing reputation as a global education hub, education week aims to attract regional and trans-national students to Dubai by providing essential information on how to select the best institution, course and country for higher education.
The activity, which includes a series of workshops, fairs and private meetings, such as the Gulf International Schools Workshop, UAE Global Educations Fairs and the BMI Gulf Scholarship Summit, is taking place in both Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
At UAE Global Education Fairs, from 20th to 21st October, students will have the opportunity to meet senior representatives from more than 100 institutions from around the world, showcasing a wide range of courses.
Mohammad Abdullah, Managing Director of DIAC and Dubai Knowledge Park, said, "We are delighted to partner with BMI as they launch this education week, creating an excellent platform for development and collaboration, continuing to attract students to our leading global education hub.
"Landscapes are shifting and we are noticing that Dubai is becoming an increasingly popular choice, selected for its accessibility both in terms of geography and affordability. The cost of living compared to major cities like London, Singapore and New York, its safety, and ease of obtaining visas, are main considerations for students who want quality education in a cosmopolitan city, interacting with people from diverse nationalities, cultures, ethnicities and backgrounds," he added.
Samir Zaveri, President and CEO of BMI, said, "We’re pleased to be collaborating with DIAC this year as one of our main partners for UAE Education Week, showcasing the findings of our research as part of the programme of events which is tailored towards institutions, academics and students alike
