H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Chairman of the Education and Human Resources Council, today chaired the first meeting of the Council at Khalifa University.
He opened the meeting with a speech in which he welcomed the members of the new council.
Solutions and initiatives for education and higher education were examined to in light of the country's National Agenda.
The members also discussed the important role of the private sector in education and examined the jurisdiction of the council.
The Education and Human Resources Council was established by Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to hammer out quick solutions for the sector based on the situation in the labour market.
The council members include Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy; Saqr bin Ghubash Saeed Ghubash, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation; Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, Minister of Education; Najla bint Mohammed Al Awar, Minister of Community Development; Jameela bint Salem Al Muhairi, Minister of State for Public Education; Dr. Ahmad bin Abdulla Humaid Belhoul AlFalasi, Minister of State for Higher Education; and Shamma bint Sohail Faris AlMazrui, Minister of State for Youth Affairs
