French presidential frontrunner Emmanuel Macron promised Sunday he would be the candidate of "hope" for France and Europe in next month's run-off against far-right leader Marine Le Pen.
Addressing a crowd of cheering supporters in Paris, the pro-EU centrist projected to top Sunday's first round of voting said: "In your name, I will be... the voice of hope for our country and for Europe."
