The World Bank
Cairo - MENA

The World Bank (WB) on Friday extended to Egypt the first batch of its financial assistance in line with an agreement between both sides.

The Bank transferred one billion dollars on Friday to the Egyptian government.

The funds will be used for financing the Egyptian government's economic reform program.

In press statements, Minister of International Cooperation Sahar Nasr said that the Bank's assistance comes to support the government's efforts for increasing its financial resources to carry out its economic reform program.

She added that it will help support national projects that will contribute to creating more jobs and improving the living conditions of citizens.
