Egypt and Tunisia
Tunis - MENA

The Egyptian-Tunisian follow-up ministerial committee opened on Tuesday in the Tunisian capital to address means of boosting cooperation in the maritime transport filed.

The two-day meetings probe activating a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the two countries, inked by the 2015 joint supreme ministerial committee, on the maritime transport field.

Items and mechanisms of operating the joint maritime route between Alexandria and Sfax cities, which aims at boosting trade exchange between Egypt and Tunisia, are being discussed during the meetings of the committee, Egyptian Ambassador to Tunisia Nabil Habashy told MENA correspondent.

In March, a Tunisian delegation paid a visit to Egypt and took tours of Alexandria port with a view to get posted on the work mechanism as well as electronic system of ships, trucks and gates.

The delegation was also briefed on the current and future projects of the port besides investment opportunities it offers.
