The General Civil Aviation Authority, GCAA, recently conducted an operational plan workshop at Sheikh Zayed Air Navigation Center in Abu Dhabi, led by Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director-General of the GCAA, and attended by Omar bin Ghaleb, Deputy Director-General of GCAA and Assistant Directors-General from GCAA’s sectors Air Accident Investigation, Air Navigation Services, Safety, Security, Support Services, Quality Risk Management and Strategy and International Affairs, as well as line managers.
The GCAA Operational Plan development process involves detailed analysis of Internal and External stakeholder’s feedback, customer satisfaction surveys as well as the PESTL and SWOT Analysis. A series of workshops are held by the Strategy and Performance Department to ensure the collaborative engagement of all concerned parties culminating in the final annual workshop.
Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi said, "This annual workshop is organised to discuss tangible aspects and perspectives regarding our 2015 Operational Plan. It is imperative to identify the necessary actions and directions that the plan is requiring. Our staff and stakeholder’s feedback is vital and an important assessment method of our success." Laila bin Hareb, Assistant Director-General, Strategy and International Affairs, said, "The 2015 Operational Plan will serve as the main planning document of the GCAA in the delivery of its mission. In our quest, we are committed to continue development through enhancement of regulatory services and strategic planning." The GCAA strongly believes that its success depends on its commitment to meet stakeholders’ expectations, as well as to cope with future aspirations and plans for civil aviation. The findings of the survey, conducted by the Sheikh Mohammed Government Excellence Programme (SMGEP) Audit, demonstrated a high level of satisfaction from both users and stakeholders. The GCAA will continue to put effort into providing services with highest standards and assume a positive role while placing great emphasis on the provision of regulatory services that are valued by our stakeholders.
