The Egyptian commercial office in Moscow secured export contracts with the Russian side worth 47.5 million dollars over the past five months, Trade and Industry Minister Tarek Qabil said.
Egypt's exports to Russia include citrus, pomegranate, colored peppers, fresh strawberry, medical and aromatic plants in addition to cheese, jam, juice concentrates, sauces and frozen vegetables and fruit.
In a statement by the Trade and Industry Ministry on Sunday, Qabil said more than 44 chances were offered to Egyptian companies to export their products to the Russian market at an estimated value of 60 million dollars.
Also, coordination is underway to register Egyptian fish companies in the Russian market, the statement said.
The Egyptian commercial office in Moscow is closely following up with the General Authority For Suez Canal Economic Zone the establishment of the Russian industrial zone in Egypt, a move that will help increase Russian investments in the Egyptian market, the statement added
