Trade and Industry Minister Tareq Qabil said the Gulf Cooperation Council and Turkish authorities approved exempting Egyptian exports of flat-rolled products of iron and steel as well as tires casing from anti-dumping duties.
Under the international Anti-Dumping Agreement, developing countries’ exports are to some extent shielded from safeguard actions.
Thanks to the strenuous efforts exerted, the ministry managed to convince the GCC and Turkey that Egypt has the right to lift anti-dumping fees on its exports.
