Four candidates are competing in the second stage of the 2017/2021 Egyptian Exchange board elections, to start Monday.
Bourse sources told MENA that the four are vying to fill two seats designed for companies registered on the EGX stock market and Nile Bourse.
Earlier this month, only one candidate was running to fill the seat representing companies registered on the EGX stock market after the other candidate had been disqualified by the committee overseeing the elections.
But yesterday the court annulled the committee's decision, bringing back the other candidate to elections race.
The first stage of the board elections took place on June 23.
The board of the bourse includes its chairman and his deputy, who are both named by the prime minister. The board also includes five members who are chosen by elections in addition to two economic experts and two representatives of the Central Bank of Egypt and the Federation of Egyptian Banks.
