The volume turnover of Albania's industrial sector in the fourth quarter of 2015 dropped by 4.4 percent due to the reduction of its mining and quarrying activities, local media reported on Monday.

The mining and quarrying activities fell sharply by 37.2 percent year-on-year, Albanian Daily News reported Monday, citing the latest report of the National Institute of Statistics(INSTAT).

Over the same period, the volume turnover of the manufacturing sector increased by 10.4 percent while that of the sector of electricity, gas, steam decreased by 4.5 percent.
