The Iraqi writer, Ali Badr, revealed that his novel "Al-Kahera"(the infidel) aims to counter extremism currents. It is a real story, in which the writer wanted to portray through it the mental masculinity in dealing with women, adding that his goal was not the demolition of a culture, or to talk about another culture.

Badr denied, in an exclusive interview with Arabs Today, that sex represents a condemnation of women, noting that sex is normal condition and we all practice it, is a part of our lives, and the novel will discuss every question about this issue.

Bader said he rejected a film offer from director wanted to make his novel as  erotic one, adding that it is true the women in the novel is seductive, but she a victim, and the novel written in the context of describing the reality of the conflict, which women are regarded as a victim.

The Iraqi writer pointed out that facing the extremist ideas is our responsibility and not the responsibility of States, the idea of extremism is a cultural idea basically, and integral part from the political events, and facing these ideas culturally is from our duties.
