Opening of the first version of Agro Oman and Fisheries Expo (Food and Halal Products 2017) was patronised by Dr. Fu'ad bin Ja'afar Al Sagwani, Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre on Monday.
The Exhibition, supported by Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, is organised by Al Nimr Expo.
In a statement to reporters, the Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries said that the Omani agricultural, fisheries and animal products are of high quality and are exported to many countries.
In response to a question about the ban on some products, Dr. Al Sagwani pointed out that there are very few cases that may take place in all countries of the world including the most advanced countries.
He added that necessary arrangements have been made to increase control and follow up products from the farms till they reach markets.
He added that the exhibition, which displays products by Omani and foreign companies, provides an ideal opportunity for Omani businessmen to meet their counterparts from other countries and enhance business relations with them.
More than 75 companies that represent countries of the world take part at the exhibition.
