Under the auspices of HE Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani, the second International Scientific Conference on Social Responsibility was inaugurated on Sunday at Qatar National Convention Centre. The conference under the theme "Security a Social Responsibility" is organized by Al Faisal without Borders Foundation and Faisal Center for Community Responsibility. 
The three-day conference aims at raising community awareness of the importance of the security sense as a collective responsibility between individuals and the state and intellectual rooting in order to prevent the impediments of security as well as presenting programs, activities and community initiatives leading to the enhancement of security along with the integration of public and private institutions in the responsibility of security.
More than 45 researchers from 18 Arab, Gulf and European countries participate in the conference to discuss all aspects of the concept of community security. An exhibition is held on the sidelines of the conference with the participation of 45 institutions from different countries including the Ministry of the Interior, the platinum sponsor of the conference.
Founder and Chairman of Al Faisal without Borders Foundation Sheikh Faisal bin Qasim Al-Thani said that since the inception of National Vision 2030, the State of Qatar has been striving to serve it as a clear road map for Qatar's future, capable of achieving sustainable development.
He added that this vision has become an integral part of the vision of Al-Faisal Foundation for charitable works, through a series of leading programs in the field of social responsibility. The second scientific conference comes to emphasize our commitment to serve and develop the society and contribute to the development of a structured framework in line with the goals of Al-Faisal Center for Community Responsibility and Qatar National Vision.
GCC Assistant Secretary General for Security Brigadier General Affairs Hazza' Mubarak Al-Hajri said that the conference highlights its importance from its theme of community responsibility, which means that security is a shared responsibility between security men and members of the community. He pointed out that the concept of the community police is one of the basic pillars which included in the strategy of the Ministry of the Interior. He added that the security men are an integral part of the society.
