Health Minister Faeqa Saeed Al Saleh today received Shura Council member Jawad Bu Hussain, to discuss the bilateral cooperation and a host of health-related dossiers.
The minister praised the Council’s efforts in its studying, discussion and passing of laws and legislations in the interest of the homeland and citizens.
The meeting reviewed various health-related topics primarily the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister to the ministers to visit the kingdom’s villages and regions to inspect the citizens’ needs, as well as the citizens’ remarks made during the minister’s visits to health centres (HCs). The minister affirmed that these inspection visits are initial visits and the ministry is keen to organize new meetings with the inhabitants and to listen to their needs. She added that the Health Ministry is always keen to communicate the citizens’ remarks to His Royal Highness the Prime Minister.
The two sides also discussed various matters, including the development of Isa Town Health Centre, the (Call Centre for Booking Appointments with Physicians at the HCs) application, and the Health Insurance Scheme which will allow the options for patients to choose their preferred treating physician.
The minister expressed her aspiration that the Health Insurance Law will receive sufficient heed and support from the legislative branch.
