General Services Company "Musanada" has revealed that it has completed the expansion and rehabilitation works of Al Waqan Hospital project in Al Ain city, to be eventually handed over to Abu Dhabi Health Services Company "Seha" over the next few months.

The move is part of the efforts to achieve the vision of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and deliver the projects which capture the attention and close follow up of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, aimed to provide high quality health services across all the UAE and ensure they are accessible by UAE nationals wherever they are.

"This project will meet the population growth requirements in the region, providing integrated healthcare services to its residents by developing the basic infrastructure needed to support and achieve international standards in the provision of healthcare services," said Eng. Ali Al Haj Al Mehairbi, Musanada’s Acting Executive Director – Building Construction Management Division.

The expansion and renovation works consists of the addition of 25 hospital beds, caesarian operation room and 14 specialised clinics, including ENT, pediatric, ophthalmology, obstetrics and gynecology, quarantine, ultrasound scanning, in addition to the renovation of the emergency room in the old building, as well as a helipad to be used in emergencies.

"The AED127-Million-plus project is divided into 2 phases, Phase I consists of the expansion works while Phase II consists of renovation of the existing buildings and construction of a new one," added Al Mehairbi. "This includes 4 new unit dialysis department, a pediatric intensive care unit, natural gas unit, medical air unit, air suction unit, as well as utility building and a double-stories accommodation building for doctors and staff."

Al Mehairbi concluded by indicating that the project stretches over 8,335 square meters, in line with best criteria followed in health facilities as per international standards. the project will provide the healthcare services needed by the residents at presently and over the coming years.

The new building will minimises the maintenance costs and provides administrative support services such as conference rooms, parking areas for patients and visitors, meeting the future requirements pertaining the expansion or addition of new healthcare services to be provided toward patients in line with best international standards.
