Jeans donated by Victoria Beckham, Julio Iglesias, Jad Choueri, Eva Longoria and Samira Said will go under the hammer — all hand-painted by international fashion designer Johny Dar. Profits from the auction will be donated to the International Rescue Committee’s initiatives supporting refugees worldwide.
The celebrity studded gala event will take place at the ART Rotana Hotel on July 1. Guests will enjoy live performances from Jad Choueri and others as well as live auction action making this a night in Bahrain to remember. Participants will have the chance to show their support for refugees in the region by bidding for a special selection of “Jeans For Refugees” donated by international superstars and special guest celebrities.
Founded in 2016 by internationally acclaimed artist and designer Johny Dar, “Jeans For Refugees” (jeansforrefugees.com) is a global initiative dedicated to helping refugees worldwide. More than 100 international celebrities have donated a pair of their denims to Dar, who transforms each pair into a unique wearable piece of art inspired by the celebrity who donated them. From Hollywood A-listers Ryan Gosling and Sharon Stone to Harry Styles, Emma Watson and many others, the stars have aligned and joined forces to create this unique initiative in support of refugees. With all proceeds going to the International Rescue Committee (IRC), the project helps to fund initiatives which help millions of refugees worldwide on a daily basis, helping to restore health, safety, education, economic wellbeing and power to people devastated by conflict and disaster.
The new Jeans For Refugees glass and sand installation, now showing in the Moda Mall, Bahrain, has been designed especially for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) to reflect the climate and the conditions that refugees in the region endure. Each piece currently on display and up for auction is available to buy with its own complimentary glass and sand display stand included.
Quite simply, these pieces will take pride of place in any gallery, home, office or showroom — private or public. Celebrity memorabilia like no other, complete with their own customised display stand, the “Jeans For Refugees can be worn, collected or given as a meaningful, unforgettable gift.  Owning a pair of “Jeans For Refugees” is more than owning an art investment or a celebrity treasure — it is safeguarding a symbol of hope for a brighter future for humanity.  By participating in “Jeans For Refugees”, buyers help support refugees worldwide and contribute to caring for victims of the greatest humanitarian crisis of our time. Selected “Jeans For Refugees” are also available to shop online — audiences can visit the live exhibition at the Moda Mall or www.jeansforrefugees.com/shop to view the jeans available, and sign up in a few simple steps to buy a piece of extraordinary history.
