Brigadier Qader said that following the availability of the necessary information, a police force arrested a member of the Daqqq district in the south of Kirkuk, and another in cooperation with the emergency police inside the center of the province, adding that these elements participated in all battles against the Peshmerga forces and Iraqi forces In the open area within the city of Tikrit.

The Ministry of Peshmerga announced on Wednesday that at least 62 of its troops are still unknown, who have fallen into the grip of IS organization since it invaded areas and cities in Iraq in mid-2014.

The deputy chief of staff in the ministry, Maj. Gen. kahrman Kamal, said in an official statement that since the war against IS, the fate of these 62 is still unknown, pointing out that some of them fell into the hands of the organization, while others were killed during the battles with the organization.

On the other hand, over 5,000 displaced families returned back home at Anbar province, western Iraq, as some regions were freed from Islamic State, Al Taghier website reported.

Head of the Ministry of Displacement and Migration branch in Anbar Mohamed Rashid said 2,071 families returned back to Fallujah, while 1,432 families went back to Haditha city, 931 families returned to Ramadi city and 579 families returned back to al-Khalidiya city. Meanwhile, 532 families returned back to Hīt district, while 166 families returned back in Saqlawiyah city.

In the same context, the Canadian government has made an additional contribution of US $ 2.2 million to the Immediate Stabilization Fund of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), to fund is fast-track projects in areas liberated from extremist elements.

"Canada's overall contribution so far has risen to $ 6.3 million," said Liz Grande, a UNDP Resident Representative in Iraq.

"Based on the priorities set by the Government of Iraq and the local authorities, the Immediate Stabilization Fund (SFF) helps to make quick repairs to public infrastructure, provides grants to small enterprises, strengthens the capacities of local authorities, encourages civic engagement and community reconciliation, the public," Grande said.

ISF established in June 2015, operates in the newly liberated areas of Anbar, Salahaddin, Ninewa and Diyala provinces. More than 500 projects have been completed or are being implemented in 22 locations. Since the beginning of the crisis, more than 1.6 million people have returned home.
