Russian military have registered shellings by militants in the Syrian regions of Latakia and Aleppo, Lieutenant General Vladimir Savchenko, the chief of the Russian center for reconciliation of conflicting sides in Syria, said on Friday.
"In the past 24 hours, insurgents attacked Ikko (two times), Nahshabba, Jubb-al-Zarur in the Latakia province, Maqans-al-Duwayri (three rimes), Hayil-al-Andalus, Shahba (two times) and Castello districts in the Aleppo city. There have also been shellings at positions of government troops close to Tal-Rifaat from the position of illegal armed groups in the Afrin district," he said.
The Russian military distributed one tonne of fresh bread among people in need in Salakhin, a district of Aleppo. Another 15 families from Aleppo received food and hygiene sets under a program of assistance to people in dire circumstances.
The Russian reconciliation center continues to fulfill assigned tasks after the completion of the military campaign in Syria. The center’s officers regularly travel around the country's liberated areas to assess the humanitarian situation. The main efforts of the Russian military are now focused on assistance to the refugees returning to their homes and evacuation of civilians from de-escalation zones.
