The technical committees for major reforms in the government, which were announced by head of the government, Youssef El Shahid in his meeting with the participated parties and national organizations, had begun their work. These committees are working on 4 aspects, fixing public jobs, social funds, the relations with public banks and public facilities.
They contain 20 members of political parties, national organizations, Labor Union, Customs Union, Peasants Union, and governmental representatives. They explore the sectors that need reforming concerning causes of disability and structural factors with depending on a cooperation approach with international laws, mutual reform between government and political parties’ suggestions, demographic and economic indicators, and virtual experiments are applicable in reality.
The work of these committees came within the frame of achieving the Carthage document’s goals to prepare a survey of the economic and social situation to face the major challenges and to prepare a program that will increase the economic growth and control financial balances in order to achieve development goals.
The committee assigned to reform the social funds met on Monday with the representatives of social protection sub-committee within the frame of Carthage’s document. The parties’ representatives were informed of the sub-committee’s progress in revising the Social Security System especially, retirement systems in public and private sectors.
