Saudi King Salman Bin Abdel Aziz delivered the opening speech of the current American-Islamic Summit held currently in the Saudi capital of Riyadh. He announced, during the speech, the launch of a new Saudi center to Combat Terrorism, stressing the need of cooperation between the U.S and its allies in the Gulf States.
Saudi King Salman Bin Abdel Aziz expressed his pleasure for the visit conducted by U.S President Donald Trump to Saudi Arabia, stressing the strength of relations between the two countries during the current period. He stressed the need for cooperation between the U.S and Muslim countries to eliminate terrorism and to overcome the current challenges witnessed in the region.
Saudi King blamed, during his speech before American-Islamic Summit on Sunday, the Iranian regime, describing it as the major source of terrorism in all over the world. He stressed, “We did not know the terrorism before the Iranian revolution.” He added that the Gulf States held a historic agreement with Washington to target the financers of terrorism. The Saudi king pledged to combat terrorism.
During his speech, the Saudi king expressed his desire to resume the fight against terrorism during the current critical period and to work to eliminate ISIS extremist group. He launched a new International Center to Combat Terrorism.
He stressed that the delegations that participate in the summit represent over 1.5 billion Muslims in all over the world.
U.S President Donald Trump, On his hand, said that most of the victims of terrorism are civilians, as 95 percent of Muslims are Muslims, praising the declaration of Saudi king to establish an international center to combat terrorism. He said that the summit comes to pave the way for achieving peace in the Middle East.
He added, during his speech before “U.S Islamic Summit” held currently in Riyadh, that it is not possible for the Middle East countries to wait the American interference to eliminate terrorism on their behalf. He stressed that the combat of terrorism is not a conflict between religions, while it is a battle between good and evil.
He added that the U.S works to establish a military alliance among the regional powers to eliminate terrorism and to provide a promising future for our children. He praised the agreements he concluded with Saudi Arabia and other Gulf States to achieve security and stability in the region.
