The First Vice-President of the Republic, Lt. Gen, Bakri Hassan Salih, was informed on the overall situation in Central Darfur when he received Monday the Wali (Governor) of the state, Mohamed Ahmed Jadal-Seid, at his office in Republican Palace and directed him to give more concern to the voluntary return.
The Wali (Governor) of Central Darfur said in a press statement after meeting that the state is witnessing security and political stability, indicating that the state is also witnessing voluntary return of more than 284,000 of displaced citizens to their home villages, pointing out that he also informed First Vice President about the implementation of developmental projects in state, including Zalinge – Nerteti - Golo road, Zalinge – Garsila road and Zalinge Airport which would be completed at the end of the current year.
He added that Salih has give a directive to continue the collection of illegal firearms and voluntary repatriation.
