President of the Republic Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir returned home from Malabo, the capital of Equatorial Guinea Saturday evening after his participation in the celebration of Equatorial Guinea with its 50th anniversary of independence from Spain. The President of the Republic was received, at Khartoum Airport, by the First Vice-President of the Republic, Lt Gen. Bakri Hassan Saleh, a number of ministers and senior government officials. In a press statement at the airport, Foreign Minister Dr. Al-Dirdeeri Mohamed Ahmed said that the President of the Republic has extend invitation to the President of Equatorial Guinea Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo to visit Sudan in next November. The Foreign Minister said that the President's visit to Equatorial Guinea came on the 50th anniversary of its independence from Spain. The visit came within the framework of communication between President Al-Bashir and his counterparts in the African continent to strengthen the Sudanese-African relations and support Sudan's orientation towards the whole African continent. He added that the visit provided an opportunity for holding of a number of bilateral meetings between the President of the Republic and a number of African leaders who attended the occasion. The minister added that the visit was an opportunity for the Minister of Foreign Affairs to communicate with his counterparts who participated in the event.
