Under the patronage and attendance of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Royal Charity Organisation, Seef Mall celebrated the 20th anniversary of its establishment in the presence of a number of guests, the Board of Directors of Seef Properties and the Executive Management of the company.

HH Shaikh Nasser praised the great support given to the national economy by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and his Majesty's efforts to promote a strong economic system for present and future generations.

"The King has given directives to grant orphans and widows under the umbrella of the Royal Charity Organisation 30% of the company's shares in support of charity and humanitarian work," HH Shaikh Nasser announced, valuing the support of the wise government led by His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Prime Minister and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, as well as those who contributed to supporting and developing this vital economic edifice.

HH extended sincere congratulations to the Seef Properties Company on its 20th anniversary, describing it as a qualitative addition to Bahraini economy. Moreover, HH Shaikh Nasser praised the company’s prominent role through its developmental, charitable and social projects, which reflect the bright image of the national institutions which best serve the Kingdom.

Furthermore, HH expressed his pride of the Royal Charity Organisation for its contribution to this national company, represented by Dr Mustafa Al Sayed as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors.

HH praised the development and growth witnessed by the company as one of the most important tourist, commercial and economic destinations for citizens, residents, visitors and tourists, which significantly contributes in driving the growth and development in the area surrounding Seef Mall. HH Shaikh Nasser also noted the expansion of its operation through its branches in a number of governorates such as the Muharraq branch and Hamala branch, taking into account the diversification of its services and continuous development of the company.

During the event, HH Shaikh Nasser honoured a number of personnel and the Chairman and Board of Seef Properties on this occasion, in turn receiving a commemorative gift from the company.

On his part, Mr. Essa Mohammed Najibi, Chairman of Seef Properties, expressed his deep gratitude to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for his directives to provide 30% of company shares to the Royal Charity Organisation, which in turn granted it to needy families, orphans and widows.

He added, "Seef Properties was launched as a closed shareholding company wholly owned by the Housing Bank, then put forward to public offering to be listed on the Bahrain Bourse. This step was part of the government's drive towards privatisation and to transfer national wealth to citizens. Today, we celebrate the active participation of Seef Mall in driving development and supporting the national economy by attracting millions of visitors since inception. We are proud of success beyond our expectations, having changing the style of shopping prevalent at the time, managing to collect various entertainment components under one roof, from retail stores, game city, cinemas, etc. I thank all members of the Board and Executive Management and congratulate them for their continuous efforts over two decades. Not to forget the role of our valued shareholders, business owners and retailers, and our esteemed visitors for their continued support and constructive contribution to the development of the mall."

Dr Mustafa Al Sayed, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, praised the generous patronage of the wise leadership and government to the economy, and commended the generous patronage of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and his participation in Seef Properties’ 20th Anniversary celebration.

He added that Seef Properties is proud of its contribution to the development of the economy and tourism in Bahrain, as well as its duty to Bahraini society by supporting charitable and humanitarian work, based on its social responsibility.

On his part, CEO of Seef Properties Mr. Ahmed Yusuf said, "As part of our celebration, and as a demonstration of gratitude to visitors and shoppers who are integral to the success of the mall, we would like to offer a range of entertainment events and family-friendly activities that will continue over a month, through which we would like to offer them an unforgettable experience. We would also like to congratulate all employees and affiliates of Seef Mall on this happy occasion and thank the tenants who have continued to support us over the past years."

As part of the celebration of the 20th Anniversary, many events and activities will be held throughout December at Seef Mall - Seef District. In early December, the mall launched a promotion, "Shop and Win", which daily enables any shopper to qualify for the draw and earn BD1,000 when spending BD20 or more at any of the mall's shops and restaurants in Seef District.

Additionally, Seef Mall held a special 20th Anniversary celebration on December 10. The National Day holiday, from December 16 to 18, will host one of the oldest folk arts, the Bahraini Ardah. The final events will be held from December 21-23, where a stage performance of the animation Ice Age will be held, followed by a children's meeting with the most famous cartoon characters. The Seef Chess Championship will also be held on December 29 and 30.

It is noteworthy that Seef Mall will be the Platinum Sponsor of the National Day celebration at Water Garden City in Seef District, organised by the Capital Governorate on December 15. Visitors will be able to see view the fireworks display launched on the occasion of the 20th anniversary.

Since its opening in 1997, Seef Mall has been one of the most popular shopping and entertainment destinations in the Kingdom of Bahrain. It continues to attract a large number of visitors thanks to its wide range of international brands including retail, restaurants and leisure facilities for children and adults, as well as hundreds of stores suitable to different lifestyles.
