Manama - BNA

Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan said 1,883 Bahrainis took suitable jobs in March 2017 meanwhile a total of 22,000 found jobs in 2016.
"The ministry continues its support initiatives that will enhance the position of Bahraini employees in the labour market, especially through vocational training and on-the-job training," Minister Humaidan told MPs in his intervention during a session of the Council of Representatives.
The minister said about 400 to 450 vacant jobs are currently available. Meanwhile, 1,455 jobs had been recorded in March 2016. Early this year, 1,883 citizens found jobs and we continue to launch initiatives aimed to boost the position of Bahrainis to become the most preferable choice for recruiting by private sector establishments. The ministry will launch more initiatives soon to provide the necessary support and training, he said.
"The ministry will continue to organize career exhibitions at the Ministry of Labour and Social Development to secure jobs for Bahraini jobseekers," he added.
The number of jobseekers includes fresh graduates as well as employees who want to switch to more remunerative jobs. The average monthly rate of recruitment is about 2,000, according to the minister.
