His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, at Al-Sakhir Palace today.

HM the King reviewed a number of local issues aiming to serve the national action process for the sake of Bahrain’s progress and its people’s prosperity.

HM King Hamad asserted that the kingdom will continue adopting programmes and plans, and harnessing all its potentials and resources to fulfill the aspirations of the citizens and bring about more national achievements.

HM the King lauded the efforts exerted by HRH the Premier, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, to develop the government’s action, and adopt initiatives that support economic growth.

HM King Hamad expressed pride in the Bahraini citizens, and in their continuous achievements at all gatherings, as well as on their constant keenness on consolidating the kingdom’s leading and prestigious position at the international level.

HM King Hamad also received, in the presence of HRH the Prime Minister, the Saudi Ambassador to Bahrain, Dr. Abdulla bin Abdul-Malik Al-Sheikh, who handed over to him a written message from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud inviting him to attend the meeting of the defence ministers of the countries of the Islamic Military Alliance to Fight Terrorism (IMAFT) due to be hosted by Saudi Arabia later this month.

HM the King expressed thanks and appreciation to King Salman for his kind invitation, wishing the participants in such a key meeting every success in stepping up their cooperation and complementarity within IMAFT, and in unifying and coordinating efforts to combat extremism and terrorism.

HM King Hamad lauded the depth of the brotherly Bahraini-Saudi relations, praising the steady progress of bilateral cooperation and coordination.

HM the King expressed appreciation of and pride in the honourable stances of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques towards Bahrain and its people, as well as his efforts to strengthen the Bahraini-Saudi relations.

HM King Hamad valued highly the major role played by Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of King Salman, to consolidate the standing and status of the Arab and Islamic nations, and to defend their interests.

HM the King also praised Saudi Arabia’s keenness on the unity of brotherly countries, as well as its efforts to maintain the region’s security and stability.
