Deputy King, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, met His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, at the Gudaibiya Palace today.
HRH the Deputy King extended thanks and appreciation to HRH the Prime Minister for constantly backing the programmes and plans aimed at supporting and enhancing the fiscal sustainability of the government and the economic sector, stressing that HRH Premier’s leadership of the government has contributed to laying the foundations on which the Fiscal Balance Programme was based.
The Deputy King also asserted that the Prime Minister’s directives have contributed to reducing government spending and re-structuring the general state budget.
HRH the Deputy King and HRH the Prime Minister reviewed a number of projects aimed at achieving fiscal sustainability and ensuring the continuity of the positive economic growth in light of the commendable support granted by brotherly Saudi Arabia, UAE and Kuwait, which, they said, reflects the depth of the fraternal relations between Bahrain and these countries, the common destiny binding them and their joint keenness to achieve common interests.
In this context, HRH Premier said that the government was resolved to face and overcome challenges and has succeeded thanks to the visions and directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the fruitful and successful efforts of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister.
HRH Deputy King and HRH Premier affirmed that the Fiscal Balance Programme is a great national milestone, and will reflect positively on the kingdom’s economic and development march for the best interests of the citizens and the coming generations.
The scheme reflects the size of Bahrain’s determination to overcome the obstacles created by the financial challenges, and move forward steadfastly towards a brighter future.
HRH Deputy King and HRH Premier emphasised that the Fiscal Balance Programme requires concerted efforts by everyone to ensure its success, as it is necessary for the current phase and its challenges.
"During this phase, everyone should assume their responsibilities so as to succeed as we have always done through turning challenges into catalysts for achievement and excellence," they said
