Interior Minister, Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa received here today outgoing UK Defence Senior Advisor for the Middle East at the UK Ministry of Defence, Lieutenant-General Thomas Anthony Beckett, who introduced to him his successor Lieutenant-General, Sir Johann Lorrain.
Chief of Public Security, Major-General Tariq Al Hassan attended the meeting.
The minister hailed the depth of the two countries' historical ties, and their shared keenness on continuing their joint efforts to promote security cooperation and coordination.
He expressed thanks and appreciation to Thomas Beckett for the tremendous efforts he had exerted, and wished him success in his new assignments.
The meeting reviewed relations between the two friendly countries and topics of common interest.
