US President Barack Obama has met with his national security team, the White House announced today.
In a statement issued by the White House, President Obama was updated on US-Pakistani ties, including efforts to strengthen cooperation along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border.
He also received an update on Afghanistan, including the building of capable Afghan security forces, America's support for an Afghan-led reconciliation process, and its efforts to build a long-term, strategic partnership between the two countries, it said.
Preparations for the NATO Summit in Chicago, where the US will further define the ongoing transition to Afghan-lead security and NATO's commitment to the future of Afghanistan as agreed to at the 2010 NATO Summit in Lisbon, were also spotlighted.
