H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, met on Thursday with a number of foreign ministers, on the sidelines of the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly.
Sheikh Abdullah met with Karl Viktor Erjavec, Slovenia's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Behgjet Pacolli Behgjet Isa Pacolli, Kosovan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Minister Miguel Vargas of the Dominican Republic, Ditmir Bushati, Albanian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Vivian Balakrishnan, Singaporean Minister for Foreign Affairs.
During the meetings, Sheikh Abdullah and his counterparts discussed bilateral relations and ways to enhance them in various diplomatic, tourist, economic, trade and cultural domains. They also exchanged views and political stances towards the latest regional and global developments. They also tackled issues of mutual concern, especially on the agenda of the UN Assembly.
Sheikh Abdullah and Erjavec signed a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, dealing with the political consultations between the two countries.
Sheikh Abdullah also met with Vladimir Ivanovich Voronkov, Under-Secretary-General of United Nations Counter-Terrorism Office.
Dr. Sultan bin Ahmad Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of State, Faris Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Adviser to the Ministry of Presidential Affairs and Lana Zaki Nusseibeh the United Arab Emirates Permanent Representative to the United Nations attended the meetings.
