Abu Dhabi University, ADU, recently hosted a delegation from the University of Tokyo, UT, to explore prospects of future collaboration in student internship opportunities.
The delegation was headed by Professor Yoshiaki Nakano and Masaaki Imaizumi from UT, with Shinji Suzuki, Head of Culture and Information Section at the Embassy of Japan in UAE. The delegation was received by Professor Waqar Ahmad, ADU’s Provost and Interim Chancellor, Dr. Aly Nazmy, Dean of ADU’s College of Engineering, and Dr. Hamdi Al Sheibani, Dean of ADU’s College of Arts and Sciences.
During the visit, both parties discussed faculty exchange programmes and potential academic partnerships in a variety of fields including new energy, information communication technology, space technology, robotics, and energy security.
Commenting on the visit, Professor Ahmad, said, "ADU is proud of its growing network of partnerships with world-class international universities. As an internationally recognised university for quality education and applied research, we believe that our mission is not limited to educating students but extends to building a generation that contributes to the transformation of the UAE into a happier, more innovative, and stronger nation."
"Through establishing such global synergies with prestigious universities such as the University of Tokyo, we are confident that our faculty and students will benefit even more, especially as both ADU and UT share a mutual vision that centers on the importance of investing in future generations," he concluded.
