Assistant Foreign Minister, Abdullah bin Faisal bin Jabur Al Doseri, received today in his office at the Ministry's General Court, Amin Al Sharkawi, UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The Assistant Foreign Minister welcomed the UN Resident Coordinator and the UNDP Resident Representative, praising the efforts and initiatives of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and its role in supporting the Kingdom of Bahrain in achieving economic diversification, sustainable development, energy use and technical support to assist civil society organizations and institutions in capacity building and strategy development.
He also noted the Kingdom of Bahrain’s keenness to enhance cooperation with the United Nations and all its agencies within and outside the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Amin Al Sharkawi praised the Kingdom's support for UNDP work, noting the Kingdom's partnership with the United Nations and its role in supporting international efforts to achieve development and peace.
He also praised the laws passed in the parliamentary session, including the Unified Family Law, the alternative penal code and the flexible labor law, which makes the Kingdom of Bahrain a leader in these fields, wishing the Kingdom of Bahrain further progress and prosperity.
