The 16th General Assembly of the Organization of Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA) has announced that the Azerbaijan State News Agency (AZERTAC) will chair the organization while Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) will become a member of its technical committee.
OANA General Assembly said that AZERTAC will lead the organization for a three-year period.
AZERTAC was also assigned as head of the News Agencies' World Congress during the organization's fifth meeting.
Chairman and Director General of KUNA and President of Federation of Arab News Agencies (FANA) Shaikh Mubarak Al-Duaij Al-Sabah took part in the OANA General Assembly.
KUNA joined OANA in 2000 as a member of the executive council.
