Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Dr. Abdulhussain Mirza has received Indian Ambassador Alok Kumar Sinha and praised the strong ties between the two countries.

 

Dr. Mirza praised the development of relations between Bahrain and India, especially after the auspicious visit of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to India, which led to an increase cooperation and trade and economic integration between the two countries.

During the meeting, the Indian ambassador expressed his desire to use solar energy in the new embassy building by installing solar panels on the roof of the building, thus contributing to generating a percentage of the total electricity used in the building.

The minister welcomed the initiative from the Indian Embassy and said the Sustainable Energy Unit is ready to provide technical support in this regard.

He said India uses renewable energy to generate electricity, and because of this, India has a specialized minister for renewable energy.

For his part, the ambassador expressed thanked the minister and officials for the welcome, the hospitality and the good reception and stressed India's readiness always to strengthen the existing cooperation in the sector of electricity, water and renewable energy to serve the interests and aspirations of the two countries.
