Deputy Premier Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa has received Ambassador of Malaysia to Bahrain, Agus Salim bin Yusof, praising the advanced level of the bilateral ties in various fields.

Shaikh Khalid congratulated the recently-appointed Malaysian ambassador on assuming his duties, wishing him success in further boosting the friendship and cooperation ties in all fields.

The deputy premier commended the success story and prominent position of Malaysia as one of the Southeast Asian economic powers. He also commended the outcomes of the successful historic official visit of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to Malaysia last April at the invitation of the Malaysian King HM Sultan Muhammad V.

Shaikh Khalid cited the two countries' shared desire to consolidate their economic, trade and investment cooperation availing from Bahrain’s position as the gateway to the Arabian Gulf and the hub of Islamic banking in the region as well as benefiting from the capabilities of Malaysia which is located in the heart of ASEAN economic bloc. He stressed the importance of boosting and deepening the commercial and investment cooperation between the two countries and exploration of opportunities in line with Bahrain Vision 2030.

The Malaysian ambassador expressed his keenness on working to achieve the aspirations and the visions of both countries’ leaderships in the interest of their peoples.

The two sides also discussed various topics and issues of shared interest.
