Police in Denmark's capital city of Copenhagen on Sunday blocked off an area near the Foreign Ministry following the discovery of a suspicious object at a nearby street, according to Danish news agency Ritzau.
Copenhagen police said on its Twitter account that they are investigating "a suspicious object" found near the Beach Road and St. Annae Street.
Earlier in the week, Danish National Police hiked their internal alert levels after the Paris attacks to a so-called "markedly heightened level of preparedness".
On Wednesday, a false bomb alert briefly shut down the capital city's airport, and the city's busiest metro station in downtown area was closed for about one hour on Friday night after police received a citizen report that turned out to be a false alarm.
