The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, DEWA, has organised a workshop on crisis and disaster management, in cooperation with the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority, NCEMA, to share experiences and knowledge among government organisations to enhance Dubai's position in the quality of government work.
DEWA reviewed its plans in dealing with crises and disasters registered with NCEMA at the workshop held in Raffles Hotel, Dubai. The participating entities presented their plans to enhance crisis management and join efforts to ensure the readiness of each organisation.
"The Crisis and Disaster Management workshop is an opportunity to exchange information and learn about the best practices followed by Dubai’s government organisations in risk management. Under the directives of the Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and in line with DEWA’s vision to become a sustainable innovative world-class utility, we seek to enhance Dubai's competitiveness globally, and improve the level of government services. We are keen to coordinate efforts among government organisations, and to increase readiness level to deal with emergencies," Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, said.
Al Tayer added that DEWA is working on harnessing modern technologies as part of its strategy for smart transformation, in the field of risk management, and has launched two new platforms to support and accelerate DEWA’s risk management procedures. These include the Smart Risk Dashboard, which was launched in accordance with the ISO 31000, and DEWA’s Corporate Risk Management Framework, and SAP GRC Mobility, making it one of the first institutions, worldwide to use this smart platform.
The workshop was attended by senior officials.
