Assistant Foreign Minister for Neighboring Countries' Affairs Osama Magdoub received Wednesday a French parliamentary delegation concerned with the Libyan file.
The meeting took up the latest developments on the Libyan arena, its regional and international implications as well as means of supporting the political dialogue among the Libyan parties.
In press statements, Magdoub underlined that Egypt backs finding a political solution since the beginning of the Libyan crisis, highlighting the Egyptian efforts exerted to encourage the Libyan parties to get involved in a dialogue and supporting the United Nations special representative.
He further reiterated that the western countries should cooperate to combat terrorism along with finding a political solution for the crisis.
Magdoub underscored that the international community should have a firm stance towards extremism that spread in Libya especially that Daesh terrorist group controls many Libyan cities the last of which is Sirte .
He said also that Egypt was among the first countries that warned from spreading of the extremist ideas in the region.
