Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique has said that gifts of Kohat-Rawalpindi Railcar and new rake of Allama Iqbal Express train will be presented to the people of KPK and Sialkot-Narowal section respectively during the current month.
He said this while presiding over a meeting about out-sourcing of washing lines situated at Lahore, Multan,
Khanewal, Rohri and Karachi, held at PR Headquarters here on Saturday.
The minister said all rakes of the new railcar for Kohat and Allama Iqbal Express had been prepared and these
were in the final phase of beatification.
He said a gift of restoration of Mehran Express train, which would run between Karachi and Mirpur Khas, would be
given to people of Sindh whereas the new rakes of the train with the latest facilities were under progress in railways
workshops.
“The upgradation of railway stations between Kohat and Rawalpindi is underway while upgradation of Okara
and Yousufwala are near to completion and these railway stations will soon be inaugurated,” he added.
He said the restoration of Sibbi-Harnai section in Balochistan was speedily under progress which would
be a milestone in the journey of the railways restoration.
He said that neat and clean trains were important in the process of providing trains with the latest
facilities to passengers.
