Hamas movement has welcomed a United Nations decision to raise the Palestinian flag on its headquarters.
In statements, Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri called for exerting more efforts to enable Palestinians to gain their rights of freedom and self determination.
Earlier, 119 countries of the UN General Assembly voted in favor of a bid to raise the Palestinian flag on the UN agencies and headquarters all over the world as the flag of the non-member observer state of Palestine.
Eight countries voted against the bid, including the United States, while 45 countries sustained.
Meanwhile, Abu Zuhri condemned a US decision to enlist three of Hamas leaders as terrorists.
Earlier, the US State Department announced that four leaders of Hamas and Hezbollah groups were placed on a terrorism list that subjects them to US sanctions.
