King Abdullah II of Jordan has received Japanese Foreign Minister Taro Kono and discussed with him ways to cement strategic cooperation and ties between Jordan and Japan in various domains.
According to the Jordan News Agency, the discussions tackled the latest developments in the Middle East, particularly efforts to push the peace process between the Palestinians and the Israelis forward, leading to serious and effective negotiations based on the two-state solution as the only way to resolve the conflict.
They also discussed the Syrian crisis and efforts to find a political solution that would guarantee Syria's territorial integrity and the security of its people. The talks dealt with international and regional counterterror efforts.
