Any suggestion that Malaysia is in collusion with any foreign governments in the investigation into the death of Kim Jong-nam, the brother of North Korean top leader Kim Jong-Un last Monday, is deeply insulting to Malaysia.
Malaysian Foreign Minister Anifah Aman said that in response to the press release issued by North Korean Ambassador to Malaysia Kang Chol, which contains a list of allegations related to the investigation surrounding the death of Jong-nam on Feb 13.
"These allegations, culled from delusions, lies and half-truths, are the basis from which the Ambassador concluded that there could be someone else's hand behind the investigation, and that the investigation by the Malaysian police is not for the clarification of the cause of the death and search of the suspect, but it is out of the political aim," Malaysian News Agency (Bernama) quoted Anifah as saying.
He said the North Korean Embassy should cooperate fully with the Malaysian government in order to ensure that the investigation is carried out as thorough as possible, and not to impugn the credibility of the investigation.
Last Monday, Jong-nam was at the KL International Airport to board a flight to Macau when a woman suddenly covered his face with a cloth laced with what is believed to be poison. Four people in connection with the murder were arrested so far.
